This is the second page of the creation unit study. It is for days 3 through 7. If you missed days 1 and 2 please go to part 1 of the creation unit study.
God created grass, herbs, and trees. Genesis 1:11-15.
Science: Plant classifications; grow a plant, dissect a plant. has links to different plant experiments.
History: Look up the history of farming. How is farming different today than 100 years ago?
Language arts: Pretend that you are a flower. Write about your day. What is your favorite plant and why? Write about your science project.
Art: Use vegetables as stamps. Draw designs in potatoes and dip into paint. Press the potato onto paper. Celery can also be used as stamps. Make a collage out of pictures of vegetables or flowers cut from magazines.Books: Nature guides for trees and plants.
God created sun, moon, and stars. Genesis 1:14-19
Bible: Study other verses about starts such as, Matthew 2:2, Revelation 22:16.
Science: Study the solar system. Look at constellations. Study the phases of the moon. Learn about solar eclipses.
The Nine Planets has a lot of information and pictures. There is some reference to an old earth and solar system.
History: Learn about navigation. Read about the Star of David. Read the Drinking Gourd. Discuss how the North Star was used in the Underground Railroad.
Language arts: Read stories and poems about stars. Ideas of stories and poems would be the Star Spangled Banner, and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Write a report on the Drinking Gourd.
Art: Make a replica of the Milky Way
Optional Field trip: go to a planetarium.
God created birds and fish. Genesis 1:20-23
Bible: Look up verses that deal with birds and fish such as Matthew 10:31, Matthew 6:26, Jonah 1:17, Matthew 12:40, Matthew 14:17.
Science: Observe birds in your backyard. Look at a bird feather. The Great Backyard Bird Count has some puzzles and coloring pagers for you to enjoy. NOAA fun for Kids has information about fish.
Language arts: Write about what it would be like to fly like a bird. Look up bird terms such as "mad as a wet hen", "chicken" "you eat like a bird". What does each term mean? Write a story about a fish.
Art: Make a bird house or a bird feeder. Make a mural of sea life.
Books: Have some bird guides on hand.
Optional Field trip: go to an aquarium.
God created the animals,creeping things and man. Genesis 1:24-31 Genesis 2:4-25.
Bible: Geneses 3 the fall of man. Jesus the Lamb of God John 1:29.
Science: Do an overview of the human body. Study the classification of animals. Bug, insects, reptiles, and lizards could also be studied.
History: Learn a little bit about the ancient Egypt. Ancient Egypt for kids lists areas such as government, daily life, and gods. Each area has different articles to read.
Language Arts: Write a report on one animal that you like.
Optional Field trip: Go to a zoo.
God rested: Genesis 2:1-3.
Science: Read about the importance of rest for the body. Today finish up anything that needs to be finished.
God created everything in seven days. A creation unit study could take a life time to study. A short study can cover the surface of what God created. Some people take a life time and study one animal or some part of the human body. We just need to remember the God who created the world that we can live in.
