Do you need One?

Yes, you should have a homeschool planner. There are times when I feel frazzled especially when my life is busy. A planner can make your life run smoother. It will help you keep all of the little pieces of your life together.

What to Include

Every homeschool planner should have a calendar. A calendar is great to keep track of everyone's activities. On my calendar I write:

• my child's sports activities
• my woman's Bible study time
• doctor appointments
• any other outside activities my family has
• note if I have invited someone over
• start and end of the school year
• holidays

Besides your calendar place your daily school schedule. Knowing the times when you are teaching can help you plan your outside activities.

In you homeschool planner place your lesson plans. You will want to know what you are doing in reading, math, history, and science. Make a note of any supplies that you will need for your subjects. Write down any books that you will need to get from the library.

It is also nice to include a homeschool journal. Keep track of what you did. You can also write down plans for next year.

I like to keep my chore chart in my planner. I have a list of daily chores for each child. I also keep a list of things that I need to do such as clean the oven.

The primary planner is for children kindergarten to fourth grade. It has forms to keep track of field trips and picture books.

The intermediate planner is for children fifth through eight grades. It has a book report form and other must know information.

The high school planner keeps your high schooler organized. It has forms to keep track of volunteer work and getting into college.
